"Electrical and electronic equipment" or "EEE" means equipment which depends on electric currents or electromagnetic fields in order to work properly, as well as equipment for the generation, transfer and measurement of such currents and fields, with a voltage not exceeding 1000 Volt AC or 1500 Volt DC. Under European and Greek Legislation EEE is divided in 10 Categories. Solar Inverters belong in the 9th category which is called “Monitoring and control instruments”.

EEE produces Waste Streams which have to be collected, transported, properly stored, reused and recycled, so that useful material is reused, recycled or otherwise recovered, in order for environment and public health to be protected, natural resources to be conserved and sustainable development to be promoted. All mentioned actions leading to the desired recycling/reuse/recovery are called Alternative Management of Waste of EEE (WEEE).

Producers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment, namely – according to EU Directives and the Greek legal framework - any natural or legal person based in EU, who manufactures, resells, or places in the market EEE, are required to arrange individual systems or engage in Collective Alternative Management Systems for WEEE related to their activity.

Compliance with above mentioned requirements is verified by the registration of the Producer in the relevant National Producers’ Registry (NPR) and the granting of a Producer Registration Number, which is renewed every three months. Registration in the NPR is a prerequisite for the placement of the products in the market, as well as the participation in public tenders.

Distributors and other participants in the products supply chain are not allowed to distribute or promote products of Producers who have not been registered in the NPR.

DATA VENIA is registered in the NPR and its Producer Registration Number is 1910.
